Premiere Pro is rolling out an upgrade packed with highly requested features that have just emerged from beta testing: Generative Extend and Media Intelligence. These innovative, AI-driven tools are set to revolutionize video editing, offering creatives a faster and more efficient way to produce stunning results. With Generative Extend, you can seamlessly extend your videos in vibrant 4K and vertical formats—even including audio clips—transforming how you handle those pesky gaps in your footage.

But that’s not all! Adobe After Effects is also stepping up its game, boasting improved performance and enhanced 3D tools. Plus, Frame.io is introducing a suite of new upgrades that enhance storage options, speed up transcription (now translating subtitles into 27 languages with lightning speed), and broaden support for various document formats. Let’s dive into the details of this exciting update!

Premiere Pro Update: What’s New?

Generative Extend and Media Intelligence are now ready for prime time in Premiere Pro! You can also look forward to additional enhancements, such as AI-powered caption translation that automatically generates multilingual captions and an upgraded Premiere Color Management system.

In the latest After Effects update, enjoy High-Performance Preview Playback, which dramatically accelerates the playback of full compositions on any computer—boosting your workflow like never before! The array of 3D tools has been expanded with exciting additions like Animated Environment Lights, allowing for faster, more realistic 3D compositing that will take your visuals to the next level. Plus, with HDR Monitoring, you can now achieve precise playback and editing of high dynamic range content, making your motion design brighter, more vibrant, and ultimately more impactful.

And here’s a special treat: the Generative Extend feature is available at no cost for a limited time! Once this introductory offer wraps up, users will tap into Firefly generative credits to access the tool. According to The Verge, depending on your Creative Cloud subscription, you’ll receive a monthly credit allowance ranging from 25 to 1,000. If you find you need more, there's a separate Firefly credit plan available, starting at just $10 per month for 2,000 credits.

While Adobe hasn’t confirmed exactly how many credits each use of Generative Extend will consume, they’ve noted that the cost will vary based on factors like the video's format, resolution, and frame rate. Get ready to elevate your video editing game with these incredible updates!
